Full Tasmania Circumnavigation: Departing from StGiles in Launceston, we head direct west via the gentle towns of Deloraine & Mole Creek before heading in a NW direction via Claude Road to Gowrie Park. Day 2 we immerse ourselves in thick forest via Cethana and Moina, past the turnoff to Cradle Mountain, then south to Tullah for the evening. Day 3 we head towards the coast via Rosebery and Zeehan for a break at Strahan on the shores of Long Bay, before the final leg along the Lyell Hwy to Queenstown. Day 4 is a beautiful run through mother nature at it's finest through the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, what an honour to be immersed in such beauty as we make our way to Tarraleah via Derwent Bridge. Day 5 via Ouse, Hamilton and New Norfolk takes us to Hobart for a rest day.
It is a sad goodbye to our 'West Mappers' and welcome to our 'East Mappers' with fresh legs!
The Challenge Continues: Extra sleep done, Laundry done, Fuelling done, you now embark on the final leg along the stunning East Coast. Day 6 on the saddle, we wave goodbye to Hobart, today's ride is not difficult, but long as we cut across to the coastline via Buckland, Orford and Little Swanport to Swansea for the evening. Day 7 will tantalise you with captivating scenery along deserted white-sanded beaches via Bicheno, Scamander and the Bay of Fires town of St Helens. Day 8 will test your fitness, be kind to yourself as we climb out of town to Derby and Scottsdale before heading north to the waters edge at Bridport, for our final evening together. Day 9 you will be joined by plenty of locals who will tow you into Launceston appreciative of your efforts around their beautiful island home! Well done!
IMPORTANT: Riders must be accustomed to being on the bike for 5+ hours per day for at least 5 days in a row. You must be able to ride an average of 15-20km/h along various gradients and weather conditions, riding in a group.
Please ensure that you are both physcially and posture fit for long days in the saddle.
SELF-GUIDED: if you are embarking on the Full Map alone, we suggest you have some company (either other cyclists, or a vehicle). There are some very rugged and remote areas along this ride which could pose danger.
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU JOIN US IN 2021 ON OUR TRADITIONAL FULLY SUPPORT ROUTE TO ENSURE OPTIMAL SAFETY AND SECURITY
